1. La Quinta Avenida (5th Ave.)
An excellent place to go shopping, have dinner and refresh. By night you can find some clubs at the beach where you will be able to drink and have fun. This is the most iconic place of Playa del Carmen.
2. Calle 12 (Street 12)
Parallel to the 5th Avenue. This street comes to life by the sunset, when you can hear all along the street Caribbean rhythms, mariachi and the hits of the moment in the restaurants, clubs and bars.
3. Parque Fundadores
One of the “can’t miss” places you can find on 5th Avenue. You must go to take a picture of yourself in the “Portal Maya”, where you will have in the back the grand Caribbean Sea.
You can see some shows outdoors as “Los Voladores de Papantla” or Mayan dancers.
4. Akumal
A paradisiac bay with crystalline water surrounded by big palms. An excellent place to rest and relax as well as sport fishing, snorkel and diving.
Akumal means “Land of Turtles” in Mayan language and it still makes honor to its name, since it is still one of the favorite destinations of these beautiful marine species.
5. Puerto Aventuras
Located 30 minutes away from downtown. It has some of the best hotels of the zone as well as relaxing restaurants outdoors with fresh fish and lobster. You can practice golf, swim with dolphins and sea wolves, go fishing or just have a time admiring the magical Caribbean Sunset.
